Stop Indoor Air Illnesses

December 17, 2018

Cold weather means closed windows. If you find yourself coughing, sneezing, and feeling sick this winter… it might not be cold or flu—it might be indoor air pollution! Check to see if any of these are causing what might look like winter illness—but actually are triggers in your home!

Fungi

First, check your air filters. Changing filters regularly not only helps reduce indoor allergens, but can increase appliance efficiency and safety.

You may notice that even with a fresh filter, your vents could be doing better. If you can’t remember the last time they were professionally cleaned, it’s probably time to do it again. Not only do dust, allergens, and more build up in your vents, but it can become a fire hazard.

If you’re coughing, sneezing, and feeling bad at home–pay close attention. Is it just one or two rooms? You might have a mold problem, especially if it’s a basement, bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, or other indoor room. Symptoms of mold toxicity can loom like allergy or cold/flu symptoms—but they’ll get worse when you’re around the source. Left untreated, you might notice recurrent illnesses through the year, and morenthan coughing and sneezing like gut problems/new food allergies, rashes, etc. Caught early you might be able to clean it yourself (using appropriate gear to protect yourself), but mold can quickly become an expensive problem.

Keep air flowing (right back to clean vents!), check your home’s humidity level, and don’t be afraid to call in a professional—medical bills cost way more than mold remediation.

So when you’re feeling sick, don’t forget to check your home. We can become blind to what we get used to seeing every day!

If you are coughing, sneezing, or wheezing, get lung support from a nebulizer and colloidal silver. Whether you want to stay healthy through cold and flu season or help your body recover from indoor pollution, give yourself a boost with direct support from colloidal silver.
