Bowel Disease on the Rise

November 9, 2016

Stomach AcheA new report says that more Americans have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) than ever. While there may be room for error in the report, there’s certainly a ring of truth.

The study asked if respondents had ever been told they had IBD, and more than 3 million US adults responded they had. Diagnosing a specific gastrointestinal illness requires testing, though, and some may confuse their diagnosis with the more common Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome.

Regardless, the causes of IBD are for sure on the rise: poor diet and other environmental toxins, weakened/out of whack immune system, and lacking beneficial probiotics that protect the gut. Then, there are diseases that can cause ongoing inflammation, a symptom which often goes overlooked.

Here’s how you can counter some of the causes of IBD:

-Start by eating good foods. It’s not just about avoiding bad foods, like processed sugar, which can cause inflammation. Good foods like raw fruits and veggies go far and beyond the nutrients they provide, nourishing good bacteria that then help protect your digestive tract (foods like garlic and onion are considered “prebiotics”).

-You can give a restorative boost to your probiotic colonies by either including probiotic rich foods in your diet, or taking a probiotic supplement.

-Support and boost your immune system. Colloidal silver is great daily immune support against pathogens that contribute to inflammation. You can also boost and encourage balance in your immune system with our Maitake Beta Glucan Extract.

-If you’re worried about environmental toxins, try a gentle cleanse (rather than a fast). Zeolite is a compound formed from forest fossils that helps pull large toxins out of the body. Pair it with Humic and Fulvic Minerals.

-Or go with targeted gastrointestinal support with our Colon CLNr, which combines herbs, nutrients, and probiotics to support the gastrointestinal tract.
