We love customer feedback! Lately, a few of you have told us that you notice a difference: our brand of colloidal silver is noticeably better than other brands—even the ones that are true colloidal silvers, and not ionic. We’re not surprised, there’s a definitive reason for that—so let me explain!
First, True Colloidal Silvers vs. Ionic Silvers
Ionic silver is a solution of silver particles, which is clear. (Dissolved sugar or salt in water or coffee is also a solution). A true colloidal silver is a suspension of silver particles—so it’s not clear, light is reflected off the particles.
Here’s how you can remember the difference: if it looks like water, it probably works like water.
In vitro studies have shown that ionic silver and colloidal silver interact with cells differently—ionic silver, which is charged, clusters around other charged particles. The neutral particles of colloidal silver can move more freely, without a charge to draw them into groups.
Then, Of Course, Quality
Everything exists in varying degrees of quality—the milk you buy, the clothes, the phone. So it shouldn’t be a surprise the colloidal silvers come in different qualities, too.
Particle Size: Smaller is better, and safer. We’re already talking about nanoparticles, but within that scope there’s still a range of sizes.
Concentration, or PPM: There are manufacturers out there trying to sell that there’s a PPM that “works best” or is “safest”, but I have no idea what they’re basing that on. What I do know is that getting a high PPM is harder than getting a low or even middle PPM. If you’re starting to get confused, think of concentrations—watered down cleaning products require more applications and elbow grease than their concentrated forms. There is no study showing true colloidal silver isn’t safe, and many showing it is (that were commissioned to find fault, and failed), regardless of concentration.
Others- Then there’s a sort of other category, “colloidal” silvers that aren’t purest colloidal products, they contain proteins. True colloids contain just nanosilver particles and water. Generally, these “other” products aren’t safe.
When you’re looking at our colloidal products, you’ll notice that they’re top in every category!
