October 17, 2014

Sick Woman And PartnerHealth headlines are all pretty focused right now—so let’s not let flu season sneak up on us!

If you check Google flu trends—flu season is already starting. So far it’s a little worse than last year, but not as bad as the year before when it was horrible—but it’s still got room to keep trending up.

First, get your humidifiers running (or your tea kettles). Humidity reduces flu transmission, and will offer you some protection if a family member falls ill. And be sure to get one started at the office, since 60% of the workforce will be showing up even if they have the flu.

It’s strongly recommended that everyone get a flu shot (especially this year), but you should decide for yourself based on your personal risks. They already have shortages, so if you’re thinking you want one, now’s the time.

Be the cleaner-upper. Flu can survive on hard surfaces for 24 hours. Door handles, table tops, elevator buttons, anything that’s touched frequently can transmit flu. At home or at the office, get the benefits of being on top of things.

Take care of yourself. Getting enough sleep, good food, mental rest, and exercise will help keep your immune system in top shape. At the least, it will help shorten the duration of any illness. If you can, stay home when you start to feel sick—give yourself a chance to get in front of it.

And give yourself a boost. Colloidal silver is an immune supporting supplement stock up now as flu season is just rolling out so you’re prepared!

Are you even thinking of the flu right now?
