Too tired to put away your stuff after a really active day? It happens. But you might want to take some proactive steps to save your towels, shoes, suits, and anything else you stashed in there.
First, prevention: give your gym or swim bag a quick spritz of Smelly Shoe Spray and let it dry for the antimicrobial protection it offers. Also include shoes (especially shower shoes!). Here’s another tip/trick: if you’re swimming outdoors, lay your towel out in the sun. It will warm it up for you! If you don’t have time to do this again to dry it out, give another spritz of Smelly Shoe Spray to your things so they don’t start to mould on the way home and roll your towel up compactly (possibly with wet swimsuit in side) so your whole bag doesn’t end up wet.
Next, problem solve: If you missed prevention, wash whatever you can in your washing machine on the warmest setting the fabric will allow. If your bag/shoes/whatever isn’t machine washable, hand wash or wipe as best you can, then use Smelly Shoe Spray to help fight any mould or bacteria and their accompanying smell.
If you neglected your bag because you got sunburned, make sure you have a bottle of colloidal silver handy. A traditional use of silver (that’s still fairly common today) is on burns. Drink plenty of water, and consider spraying some colloidal silver over an aloe containing salve or balm.
