Everyone makes New Year’s resolutions, and most people give up on them by March. That new sugar free diet, exercising an hour a day, spending a few hours a week on your hobby—all it can take is a long week at work or an unexpected event to upraise those New Year’s resolutions.
But what about New Year wishes? To be a little healthier than last, to not gain that pound per year they say we average in adulthood, to be a little more focused at work and at play. A simpler lifestyle based goal can be more achievable.
You can support New Year wishes with small daily changes. Here are some tips:
-Take a daily multivitamin—set it by your breakfast or your toothbrush. It will round out your nutrition and provide a safety net for days when your New Year’s diet slips a little.
-If you’re not getting enough sleep, try to add 15 minutes a night until you’re in that golden 7-9 hour window. Changing your schedule 15 minutes at a time should be doable! But if the problem is quality, try a natural sleep aid instead.
-If you can achieve the recommended 30 minutes of daily exercise, great! But try and make small lifestyle changes that incorporate exercise, too, so that when you don’t have time for those thirty minutes (and the shower and prep that come with them) you’re still a bit more active than the average person, Park farther away, take the stairs, walk to do your errands at lunch.
-Try and improve your focus to support your work and hobbies. Meditation, better sleep (as above) or even a supplement like MesoGold could help.
