The Winter Blues

December 29, 2009

It’s the holidays, and if you’re like most of us, you’re probably dealing with a number of issues ranging from visiting relatives and travel plans, to the bad economy and gloomy weather. For some, being around everyone during the holidays may feel a bit like social anxiety disorder. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, or you feel like you’re suffering from seasonal anxiety or seasonal depression, there are a number of things to help you boost your mood and avoid having an anxiety attack, including Welltrients Supplements.

Start by getting your daily dose of sunlight to support immune function. Exposure to the sun for at least 15 minutes helps your body to make vitamin D, which most notably supports immune function and helps your body absorb calcium, which helps your bones grow. Bone density tends to wane in the winter, so make sure you support your bones with vitamin D!

If it’s too cold to get out into the sun, then make sure you supplement your diet and get your full dose of vitamin D-try Welltrient One, a multi-vitamin that gives you the vitamin D your body needs, and if you’re worried about your calcium intake consider adding a calcium supplement. Alternatively, if you are getting lots of calcium from milk, salmon, or dark greens, you can further help your body absorb and retain calcium with a magnesium supplement.

Next, take time to relax your brain. With the running list of presents, travel plans, family members who are out of school or visiting to keep track of, errands, and meals to plan you can really tax yourself. So get enough sleep. Not only is it good for your brain and your overall health, but sleeping refreshes your brain so your lists and tasks will be a little more clear and easier to tackle. Consider what supplements you might take to help support your brain functions.

Mesogold Colloidal Gold is a supplement that is not only reported to relieve anxiety and depression, but to help with your focus! Having solid concentration always comes in handy when you’re preparing dinner for more than a dozen people. If you’re already verging on a panic attack, start by taking a time-out to clear your mind and to have a few minutes that are free of all your tasks. Support your brains neurotransmitters by using Serenity CALM Welltrients, which is chalk-full of amino acids.

Remember to consult your doctor if your anxiety is particularly severe or if it lasts beyond temporary stresses. If you do have an anxiety attack, symptoms may include:

  • Breathlessness
  • Increased Heart Tempo
  • Impaired Vision
  • Difficulty Swallowing
  • Sweating
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Trembling
  • Sensation of Pins and Needles
  • Sense of Being Overwhelmed

The best way to treat an anxiety attack is to prevent it from happening-so relax, and take your vitamins!
